New Life is involved in the Livelihood Improvement Program from the year 1994 by forming Self-Help Groups among the poor women. A unique poverty tool is deployed to screen the aspiring members into the programme. As on 31.03.2008, 19469 women are benefited by the above program as we have arranged loans from banking system/Formal financial institutions and our members are trained to take up small enterprises aimed at generating income/additional income for their families. The women members of the organization are engaged in artisan works/handicrafts/service sector/small business/vending /self-employment initiatives and their income generation activities are monitored periodically by the livelihood improvement committee of the organization.

The poor women from the BPL category, irrespective of caste, creed and religion are the target segments in the multi-various activities being carried out by New Life. The total number of members benefited by the various programs of the organization as of September 2008 is 28109(from Trichy, Perambalur, Tiruvarur, Pudukkotai,Nagappattinam and Cuddalore districts of Tamilnadu).
